It boasts of one of the most beautiful pieces of artwork in the city and is a major tourist hotspot in the area that a traveler must visit for a breath of fresh air and some winding down from the hectic wayfaring.

Aloe Plaza is named in honor of Louis P. Aloe who died in 1929. He served as the President of the Board of Alderman from 1916 to 1923 and led the movement for the passage of the bond issue.

'The Meeting of the Waters'; a sculpture which is built around the fountain is a work of the sculptor Carl Milles. It is said that Edith Aloe; the wife of Louis P. Aloe was obsessed with the art of Swedish sculptor Carl Milles and her obsession paved the way to buying his talent to built this monument just after the Great Depression.

The Fountain which is originally named as 'The Wedding of the Rivers' symbolizes the union of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. It is represented by the two central figures; one male and other female in the monument which forms a wedding procession accompanied by 17 other smaller water spirits which signifies the smaller streams which fill these two major rivers.

With the serenity and peace surrounding this artistic creation, Aloe Plaza is a definite must-see place in St. Louis area.
